Applications received for seminars are scrutinized by a committee set up for this purpose. AERB extends financial support to organizations and institutes to organize conferences, symposia, seminars and workshops on safety related topics. These technical events encourage interaction among scientists and promote interdisciplinary collaboration, an essential factor in promoting radiological, industrial and nuclear safety. Publications from these events are normally made available in electronic form to all participants and also on websites to ensure online availability all over the country to a wider section of professionals.
The conveners of national/international conferences, symposia, seminars and workshops may submit an application to AERB for funding as per given format (Annexure-XII of CSRP Brochure (570 KB)
Support is generally extended in the form of co-sponsorship with other agencies. The requests for such support have to reach Director, R&DD at least two months before the event for anticipatory support. After communicating the approval of the grant and receipt of claim form (Annexure-XIII of CSRP Brochure (570 KB)
AERB funding is subject to the following conditions:
TOPICS OF INTEREST
AERB supports the research projects on topics related to nuclear, industrial and radiation safety. Investigations on topics related to (a) safety aspects of nuclear technology including civil and structural engineering (b) front end and back end fuel cycle issues (c) industrial safety in nuclear and allied installations and (d) safety aspects of radiation applications in agriculture, industry, medicine and research, are considered for support. SERB invites proposals under CRG Exponential Technologies in the areas of: Artificial Intelligence (AI), augmented / virtual reality, smart mobility, 6G/7G communication, full genome sequencing, embedded sensors for structural life assessment, quantum computing, 3D printing for bio-organs, synthetic biology, solutions for climate change, digital chemical synthesis, extreme materials, aquaporin membranes, synthetic meat, hydrate desalination, science for a circular economy, tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, systems biology, smart drug delivery systems, etc and other exponential technology areas. The end-goal of these investigations should necessarily be an exponential growth of future technologies as applicable to societal challenges and national missions, with a chance of creating truly remarkable and sustainable solutions, preferably through collaborative research cluster approach.

SERB Women Excellence Award is a one-time award given to women scientists below 40 years of age and who have received recognition from any one or more of the following national academies such as Young Scientist Medal, Young Associate etc. 1. Indian National Science Academy, New Delhi 2. Indian Academy of Science, Bangalore 3. National Academy of Science, Allahabad 4. Indian National Academy of Engineering, New Delhi 5. National Academy of Medical Sciences, New Delhi 6. National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, New Delhi Proposal may be submitted via SERB online portal.

In order to forge powerful partnership with national laboratories and to create knowledge networks with academic institutions, TDB instituted a National Award for successful commercialization of indigenous technology by industrial concerns in 1999. The second category of award was introduced in 2000 for SSI units. It has been renamed as MSME award. From 2017 onwards, a new category of award called national award for start-up has been introduced to encourage & promote technologies developed by start-ups having potential for commercialization.
There are three categories of award, which are as following-
I. NATIONAL AWARD FOR THE SUCCESSFUL COMMERCIALIZATION OF INDIGENOUS TECHNOLOGY
This award will be given to an industrial concern which has successfully developed & commercialized an indigenous technology in or after April 2017. In case, the technology developer / provider and technology commercializer are two different organizations, each one would be eligible for award of ₹25 Lakh and a trophy.
II. NATIONAL AWARD FOR MSMEs
This award will be given to MSMEs which have successfully commercialized a product based on indigenous technology in or after April 2017.
III. NATIONAL AWARD FOR TECHNOLOGY START-UPs
This award will be given to a technology start-up for promising new technology with potential for commercialization.
*Selection Committee may change the number of awards under each category to be given or may defer if the entries are not found suitable.
