Dear Colleagues/ Students/ Project Staff
Trailing mail needs your support and cooperation in CSIR's efforts towards fighting against COVID-19 through sero-survey. This survey is being carried out pan CSIR to determine the presence of covid 19 fighting antibodies in our blood sample ( 5ml). CSIR-NML is making arrangement to collect the blood samples of its staff, staff's family members and all the temporary staff ( Students/ PA etc). Samples will be collected at different locations ( NML Flats Agrico, Golmuri Colony and NML campus). After collection, samples will be handed over to CSIR-IGIB, Delhi for carrying out the further studies. It will be a periodic process ( 6 monthly) to review the status of antibodies presence in the blood.
Needless to say, that participation in this mission is on volunteer basis. It has been conducted in all the CSIR labs hence it's required that NML too should join the team and assist in the mission.
To register your self as a volunteer, you just need to fill the google form, available at following link:
Pl. join. Once sufficient numbers are there, schedule for sample collection will be frozen soon ( by early next week).
Thanks

Subject: Call for Voluntary Participation in Sero-Survey program " Phenome India" of CSIR family
Dear Friends and colleagues,
As we all know, our CSIR family has played a vital role in fight against the Covid 19 and supported various national endeavors in this direction through precisely planned programs across under various pillars of R&D across CSIR. Now, with a vision to be ready against future threats, CSIR as a family is moving ahead with a mission program of SERO-SURVEY : Phenome India. This is certainly going to help and understand our physical and biological capabilities to sustain ourselves against threats like Covid 19. We request you to please go through the google link below to understand the program in detail. All permanent staff/PA/JRF/RA/PFs along with their families are requested to participate in this national endeavor on voluntary basis, by filling up the google form (LINK given below). The Privacy of participant and confidentiality of the information obtained would be protected as required by law. The dependents/wards of permanent and temporary staff/members (PA/JRF/RA/AcSIR) of CSIR NML can participate in this drive. The modality of the drive including blood sample collection will be intimated separately. As a citizen of India and member of prestigious R&D fraternity, let us support and serve our beloved nation with huge participation. We are expecting your kind responses through GOOGLE form below by 4-5 days to plan the modalities. For any queries the undersigned can be contacted.
Regards
"Phenome India"

Note: Some useful Information from attached google form.
"Phenome India - A long-term longitudinal observational cohort study of health outcomesIntroduction of the study:
Large-scale phenome data from longitudinal cohort studies are critical for investigating the cause of disease and to establish links between risk factor and health outcome. It can yield a wealth of information in establishing causation and development of diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers especially for communicable and chronic non communicable diseases which is an emerging health crisis in India. Such studies have been conducted in other parts of the world to identify risk factors related to genetic and lifestyle related disorders, and factors important for health outcomes. We will also perform serology testing for infectious diseases caused by microbes like SARS-CoV-2 to assess the status of antibody in your body against these microbes. In India we do not have such large scale longitudinal follow up of individuals to understand the India specific factors. India having vast array of variability with respect to genetic- ethnic background and geographical and environmental conditions, it is even more pertinent to identify such factors considering these variations. We at CSIR therefore have undertaken this study towards development of CSIR- health cohort wherein CSIR employees spanning across laboratories would be invited to participate in the study.
AIM and objectives of the Study:
To develop a standardized protocol for obtaining lifestyle, dietary, and clinical information towards establishing a prospective cohort and carry out molecular profiling to examine health outcomes and to perform serology test for infectious diseases caused by microbes like SARS-CoV-2
" Benefits of the study:
There are no immediate benefits to you from this study; However, the outcome of this study is critical for investigating the cause of disease and to establish links between risk factor and health outcome. It can yield a wealth of information in establishing causation and development of diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers especially for chronic non communicable diseases which is an emerging health crisis in India. The serology tests will help you understand if you have already developed antibodies to certain infectious diseases caused by microbes like SARS-CoV-2"
