Dear NASI Fellows,
Greetings from Indian National Young Academy of Sciences (INYAS).

I am glad to share a white paper by INYAS on "Career challenges for young
independent researchers in India '' as published in the latest edition of
Current Science.

As you know, one of the major objectives of INYAS is to become a voice for
Young Scientists of the country highlighting their issues and suggest ways
to improve.
Continuing towards this, INYAS conducted a nationwide survey last year
among the young scientists from IITs, NITs, IISERs, National Research Labs,
Universities, Colleges, etc. to understand the challenges before them in
establishing an independent career in Science. A summary of this survey
(based on more than 850 responses) along with a set of recommendations are
now published in this paper.

We shall be happy to receive your comments on this.
