Dear Mr. Chandan,
It is my pleasure to inform you that you have been selected to receive an Acta Student Award for your primary contribution to the manuscript, “Temperature dependent deformation behavior and stacking fault energy of Fe40Mn40Co10Cr10 alloy”.
The field of nominees was very impressive, and the task of selecting winners was challenging. Not only did your paper demonstrate exceptional value to the materials community, but your personal credentials and recommendations were also exemplary.
As you know, this award comes with a prize of $2,000. We are in the process of working on the plans to present these awards at the Acta Symposium which will take place during TMS 2023 in San Diego, CA next March.
https://www.tms.org/AnnualMeeting/TMS2023 .
I invite you to present a poster to be viewed in the symposium room during the reception. If you are considering attending the conference and wish to submit an abstract, the TMS 2021 Abstract deadline is July 1, 2022.
Acta Materialia, Inc., the governing board for the Acta Journals, will reimburse your travel expenses up to $750 if you are planning to attend the symposium. (For those students traveling from abroad, the Board will also consider requests for additional economy class airfare reimbursement.) However, all other expenses to attend TMS 2023 are your responsibility.
Margie Beridon in my office will be contacting you with more details once the plans unfold. If you have any questions regarding your participation, please contact Margie at: margie.beridon@actamaterialia.org . We sincerely hope that you will be able to attend.
Congratulations on receiving this award! I wish you the best of luck in your future career and hope you will continue to consider the Acta Journals for publishing your work.
Yours sincerely,
Christopher A. Schuh
