Non submission of FER for Patent Application

Dear Inventors,

As a part of the patent filing process, we are regularly receiving First Examination Report (FER) from the Indian Patent Office (IPO) through IPU-CSIR for necessary clarifications or reply against observations/objections by IPO. These replies are to be communicated to IPO within a predefined duration to avoid penalty or to keep alive the patent application.

It is observed that few inventors are not responding to the FER in spite of the repeated reminders. As a result either the patent applications are forced to drop by CSIR after paying the application/attorney fees or CSIR is paying a penalty for late filing of FER Responses.

Keeping in view the above all inventors are requested to respond to the FER within a week time after receiving the same.
