Subject: Inviting proposals for Fast Track Transnational (FTT)/Fast Track Commercialization (FTC) projects: 4th Tranche, Starting Year 2022
Dear Director,
Greetings!
As you all are aware CSIR has put in place a mechanism to support Fast Track Translation (FTT) and Fast Track Commercialization (FTC) projects. The philosophy behind these projects has been to build up trans-disciplinary teams in the laboratories, including scale up, down-stream processing, characterization, validation and trials to deliver innovation into the market and/or society while nurturing cross-sector cooperation. The aim has been to reduce the time from idea to market, to create new business opportunities or expand existing businesses and stimulate the participation of a cross-section of scientists and technical personnel towards a defined goal to deliver new technologies and products in a short span of 12-24 months.
The ongoing 3rd tranche will be over by March 2021. In order to continue the process of supporting the translation research by bridging the gap between labs to industry i.e. handholding for commercialization and to continue the venture CSIR, the proposals under FTT/FTC category for the 4th Tranche are hereby invited. The formats for submission for both FTT & FTC proposals is attached herewith.
You are aware that CSIR has been discussing the promising technologies for supporting ‘AtamNirbhar Bharat (ANB)’ . The same may be considered as inputs for FTT/FTC proposals. Also, a few key / technology gap areas have been discussed during brain storming meetings organized by CSIR, HRDC. The recommendations of these brain storming meetings are also attached herewith for your ready reference and consideration while identifying the proposals for FTT/FTC projects.
Directors may initiate the process of formulation and screening of proposals at lab level for submission of the same by 31stJanuary 2022 at the email ID : tmd-indus@csir.res.in . The possibility of online submission of the proposals as an option is being explored in parallel. The details will be shared.
The proposals will be screened, evaluated and considered for grant as per the guidelines vide OM 6/10/Reorient CSIR/2021/1 dated September 29, 2021 regarding Implementation of Stage-Gate Model for Technology Development in CSIR (OM enclosed).
With Regards
Dayananda
