Retention of Laptops (generalised specification)after five years of usage as per OM of Ministry of Finance - F No -08(34)/2017-Eii(A) dated 20th Feb,2018 and CSIR clarification on the subject vide OM dt 19.11.2018.

Dear Indentors,Project Leaders,HODs,

This is to bring to the kind notice of all that as per instruction issued vide Ministry of Finance OM NO.F.No.08(24) dated 20.02.2018 endorsed by CSIR on 12.06.2018 & 19.11.2018, the following has been decided regarding retention of laptops/notebooks and similar devices:-

1. Post the completion of five years of usage, the officer shall retain the device(having generalised specification and within the price limit as mentioned in the OM) subject to the approval of CSIR-NML stores.
2. No service/repair/spares will be allowed after 5 (five) years of device usage.The AMC of such Laptops having generalised specification and within the price limit as mentioned in the OM) which have completed 05 years may accordingly be discontinued.
3. The above condition would not be applicable on high-end specification laptops/notebooks/devices procured for R&D activities and beyond the limit as prescribed in the referred OM.
